Spetses island is the island of the aromas! Known as Isola di Spezie under Venetian rule and Pityoussa (pine-clad) in ancient times, Spetses, at just 54 nautical miles from Athens, is a picturesque, car-free island with unique architecture, naval history and culture. The island flourished during the early 18th century, developing into a significant naval power, dominating the major shipping routes of the Mediterranean. Today, the two-hundred-year-old captains’ mansions lining the coast are a testimony to the vast wealth and grandeur of that time. The mansion of the Greek War of Independence heroine Laskarina Bouboulina –the first woman ever officially given the title of admiral– now houses Bouboulina’s Museum which hosts a Cultural Festival every summer with a plethora of events – while the Spetses State Museum is housed in the mansion of Spetsiot revolutionary leader Hatziyannis Mexis and contains artifacts representing more than 4000 years of history.
With its rich history and culture, museums, beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, and cosmopolitan nightlife, Spetses is the perfect location for a short break or long vacation throughout the year.  

Hydra, built in the shape of an amphitheater on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf, is one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Traditional stone mansions, narrow cobblestoned streets, secluded squares and above all, the ban on cars and the use of around 500 donkeys as a means of transportation, explain the reason why Hydra preserved its distinctive atmosphere through the passage of time.
 
Delphi is known as the Navel of the Earth. Ancient Greeks believed that Delphi was the Navel of the Earth, a place seen as a spiritual focal point for all Greeks; it included many sanctuaries and the most prestigious oracle in all of ancient Greece. This is where Pythia, the high priestess, uttered the divine advice of the god Apollo to mortals who traveled from across the world to seek a prophecy. Apart from Greeks, the Oracle was visited also by foreign leaders and dignitaries who were anxious to know the will of Apollo on important state affairs.
At a stone’s throw from the archaeological site, you can visit present-day Delphi town, lying at the foot of Mt. Parnassus, near Arachova town. Choose the area for your winter holidays as it is close to Parnassus ski centre, or visit it any other time of the year and explore the beauty of nature and the nearby beaches. It’s situated at a conveniently short distance from the mountain, the woods, the archaeological sites that are famous the world over, and some beautiful beaches.
 
The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea.
It is the unquestionable sea “umbilical cord” between the Western and Eastern Mediterranean.
We are going to stop to see this miracle of modern construction and then you will be driven to see the ancient Diolkos passage. (Δίολκος, from the Greek dia διά, “across”, and holkos ὁλκός, “portage machine”) was a paved trackway near Corinth in ancient Greece which enabled boats to be moved overland across the Isthmus of Corinth. The shortcut allowed ancient vessels to avoid the long and dangerous circumnavigation of the Peloponnese peninsula. 

Nafplio is considered to be one of the most beautiful and romantic towns in Greece. Here, we walk through Greek history from archaic times to the present. Legend says that the town was founded by Nafplios, son of the god Poseidon. Nafplios’ son Palamides fought in the Trojan War and today, his namesake, the huge Palamides castle, still stands atop the hill overlooking the town. We will drive you up to this famous castle to explore it and to enjoy the panoramic view.

Mycenae. One of the World Heritage Monuments of UNESCO, homeland of king Agamemnon when he returned as a winner from the Trojan War. Your guided archaeological and historical tour will start at the vaulted tomb, known as the “Treasury of Atreus”, one of the most impressive works of Mycenaean burial architecture. Continue to the Lion Gate, visit Grave Circle A, the “Megaron”: the Palace of the Mycenaean kings and the Museum.

Epidaurus, one of the most famous therapeutical centers of the ancient world and a UNESCO World Heritage Theatre. We will have a guided archaeological and historical tour of the Temple of Asclepius, the Abaton, the Tholos (dome) with its puzzling function,   the Stadium, the Ceremonial Banqueting hall, the Katagogion, the Museum and the Theatre, enjoying its magnificent acoustics. After Epidaurus, we will have a 2 km walk, in a preserved ancient path through pine trees and a small stream to enjoy nature.
