Meet a local family who have renovated the mill of their ancestors. You will not see only their folklore museum and you will hear stories from decades ago like from the second world war and more, but you will feel the real Greek hospitality.
Besides the renovated mill, small folklore museum from donations of local families, you will visit their house in which every room has its one story to tell. It’s like a journey back in time with old furniture, maps, typewriter, black and white photos..
Imagine yourself after visiting a nearby famous monastery of the rocks-Egg monastery, enjoying an authentic visit to this family learning the tradition, Greek culture, local history and much more and then all together to taste the local dish which is artichokes as a stew or with lamb slow cooked! Not to mention the home-made fresh bread from their wheat and mill!
Optional visit to the egg monastery with a pick up truck ride! – 2h
You will be driven to the most of the dirt road and then you will walk through pine trees around 20min until you will reach the famous monastery of the rocks, called egg monastery. Hold your breath from the panoramic view and the wild beauty of the place. Hear the stories from where this name came from and the history of this place.
Last but not least you will visit the fields that this family cultivates with artichokes and old varieties of wheat. -Biological Cultivation-What else could you ask for?
