Day 1 / Athens, Greece
Arrival in Athens, our trip assistant will be waiting for you at the airport.Transfer to your hotel. Meet up in the evening for a guided walk through the city, where fantastic images await you around every corner and dinner at a traditional Greek tavern in the historic Plaka neighbourhood.Night in Athens.
Day 2 / Athens City and Gastronomic Tour with ‘Chef on the street’
After breakfast, begin the day being lectured about Greek history at thesacred rock of the Acropolis, just like the old philosophers used to do. Explore the New Acropolis Museum, relax at the reading lounge and browse through books on the Acropolis and the Classical world with views of the Caryatids. Continue with an exclusive Food Tour of Athens, with the ‘chef on the street’ an experienced Chef expert of our team, wearing his uniform, will guide you to a different Athens. Your palate will lose any orientation discovering new flavors encountered in the Greek tradition in modern Athens. Day 3 / Isthmos -Nafplio –Mycenae-Epidaurus
After breakfast our tour will continue with the first stop at the Corinth Canal which is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It is the unquestionable sea “umbilical cord” between Western and Eastern Mediterranean.Continue on, we arrive in Mycenae, with a guided archaeological and historical tour starting at the vaulted tomb, known as the “Treasury of Atreus”, one of the most impressive works of Mycenaean burial architecture. Continue to the Lion Gate, visit Grave Circle A, the “Megaron”: the Palace of the Mycenaean kings and the Museum.Enjoy your lunch in an organized picnic in a picturesque church, fountain & under plain trees (near to Mycenae).Our next stop is Nafplio city, one of the most picturesque & romantic towns of Greece.We will enjoy a short walk in nature under the historic walls of the city and then we will experience a mini ‘sweet Gastro Tour, with 3 tasting stops to taste traditional sweets & handmade ice cream with coffee and tea, walking through the old markets and discover every hidden corner of the old city of Nafplio. Evening transfer to Epidaurus, dinner and Greek night at a family traditional tavern. Night in Epidaurus.
Day 4 / Epidavros – Nemea-Tripoli
After breakfast, we will visit Epidauros, one of the most famous centers of the ancient world and its UNESCO world heritage Theatre. Guided archaeological and historical tour of the Temple of Asclepius, the Abaton, the Tholos (dome) with its puzzling function, the Stadium, the Ceremonial Banqueting hall, the Katagogion, the Museum and the Theatre, enjoying its magnificent acoustics.After the theater of Epidaurus we will walk 2 km, in a preserved ancient path through pine trees and a small stream to enjoy nature. After that we will visit a family business, which produces olive oil. A perfect chance to see the procedure of making olive oil and to taste the juice of olives with a small buffet. (Olive oil tasting).Continue on Nemea, the largest wine-growing area of Greece famous for its wine since ancient times. Gathering with our Gastronomical Experts, you will enjoy wine tasting at two local wineries. Αfter that traditional lunch in Nemea. Evening transfer to Tripoli. Time to settle and gathering for dinner in a local taverna. Night in Tripoli
Day 5 / Tripoli-Dimitsana-Vitina-Sparti
After breakfast, we will visit a cheese factory for tasting the most famous Greek cheeses and see the procedure of making them.Continue on, we arrive in Dimitsana one of the most beautiful mountainous & traditional villages in Arcadia prefecture. Hot spots: Lousios river, water power museum, two famous old monasteries. Walk and enjoy nature across the river.Cooking lesson and traditional lunch in an agricultural multifunctional facility (Workshops, cooking museum, croplands with several trees, herbs etc).Our next stop Vitina another village famous for its honey. Perfect chance for honey tasting (two tasting stops) coffee or tea.Vitina is famous for its honey because it is a ‘Protected Geographical Indication’ with its high quality ingredients.Transfer to Sparti. Time to settle and gathering for dinner in a local tavern. Night in Sparti.
Day 6 / Sparti-Kalamata
After breakfast, discover Sparti that is full of history, surrounded by mounts Taýgetos and Párnon.Sparti was the kingdom of Menelaus and his beautiful queen, the most beautiful of all mortal women of her age, Helen. But Aphrodite had promised Paris of Troy the most beautiful woman on earth in return of a favor, so the Trojan prince came to Sparti to claim his trophy. He abducted Helen and travelled back to his homeland. Menelaus wanted his wife back and talked all the other kings of Greece into fighting against the Trojans. That’s pretty much how the most celebrated war of the myths started.Today’s tour includes a visit to the olive oil museum and to a Feta cheese creamery, tasting Lakonian delicacies,local wines and spirits. Amazing products will be unveiled during our stay here: feta, the king of Greek cheeses, olive oil, our liquid gold, syglina, smoked pork in aromatic herbs and Rafiolia, crescent pies of flaky pastry with mastic liquor, rosewater and white almond pulp. Relax at King Leonidas land, picture yourself at his statue, stroll around the modern city and visit the library.The tour continues… be the knight or princess of your childhood fairytales in the Byzantine town of Mystras! Visit the mystical tower town of Mystras and let yourself be captivated by this destination’s medieval splendor.Wander around the castle city and sense through the silence the city’s sheer grandeur.Arrival to Kalamata, time to settle and gathering for dinner at a selected local tavern. Night in Kalamata.
DAY 7/ Kalamata- Ancient Messene- Ancient Olympia
After breakfast walking tour on a route through beautiful nature, with historical interest near to Kalamata. The distance is 7 Km and the route is: Kardamili – Saint Sofia – Gorge of Viros.
Hot spots: Byzantine churches, graves of Dioskouri, Kastroa, Polidefki sons of Zeus, the famous tower of Mourtzinon, old elaborate fountain the view of the ‘pyramid’ (the peak of Taygetos mountain 2407m), gorge of Viros.After the walking tour, visit the Ancient Messene, the new (2014) monument of Unesco.
Messene is a significant ancient city in terms of its size, form, and state of preservation, and still has much to offer due to the continuous new excavations. It possesses not only sanctuaries and public buildings, but also imposing fortifications, and houses and tombs. It enjoys, amongst other things, the advantage of never having been destroyed or covered by later settlements, and is located on an unspoiled inland site. Its natural setting combines the grandeur of the mountains of Delphi with the low-lying, riverine tranquility of Olympia, the dominating bare limestone mass of Ithome, the site of the ancient acropolis, with the low fertile valley around the ancient city.
Enjoy your lunch with the view of this worldwide monument in a local traditional family tavern. After lunch we will visit a family business that makes pasteli (sesame bars with honey). They will show you the procedure of making pasteli and of course you will taste them direct from their source! Transfer to Olympia, settling at the hotel and gathering for dinner at a selected local tavern.

Day 8 /Ancient Olympia
After breakfast visit Ancient Olympia, according to the World Heritage website, there is probably no ancient archaeological site anywhere in the world that has more relevance on today’s world than Olympia. We’ll first pay a visit to the Museum with the famous Hermes by Praxiteles and continue to the stadium of Olympia, where the ancient Olympic Games were held, and the massive temple of Zeus, the largest temple in the Peloponnese, are some of the attractions of the site. The best way to get the most out of your visit is to actually race in the stadium like the athletes used to do and feel the vibes!Continue on, a cooking master class will inspire you with recipes to take back home, followed by lunch. Free time for a last scroll around Olympia before our transfer back to Athens. Time for settling at the hotel and farewell dinner at a local tavern.
